Jüdisch-arabische Zusammenarbeit in Israel nach den Terrorangriffen vom 7. Oktober 2023
Als am 7. Oktober 2023 Terroristen der Hamas und anderer bewaffneter Gruppen aus dem Gazastreifen Israel angriffen, unterschieden sie bei ihren Gewalttaten nicht zwischen jüdischen und arabischen Bürger:innen Israels. Daher entstanden im Süden Israels jüdisch-arabische zivilgesellschaftliche Initiativen, die sich um die medizinische und psychologische Betreuung aller Überlebenden der Terrors und die Versorgung aller Binnenevakuierten kümmerten. Außerdem wurden im ganzen Land Initiativen aktiv, die sich für ein friedliches Zusammenleben von jüdischen und palästinensischen Israelis und gegen Hass und Hetze aussprachen. Sie leisteten einen entscheidenden Beitrag dazu, dass es innerhalb Israels nicht zu einer Eskalation der Gewalt zwischen den Bevölkerungsgruppen kam.
Die israelische Zivilgesellschaft braucht weiter unsere Hilfe. Auch 7 Monate nach jenem schwarzen Tag werden mehr als 120 Geiseln in Gaza festgehalten, die Zahl der Binnenevakuierten liegt bei 60 000, der Krieg zwischen Israel und der Hamas dauert an, die humanitäre Lage in Gaza ist katastrophal und die Angst vor weiterer Eskalation hält an. Have you seen the horizon lately: Jüdisch-arabisches Nothilfezentrum in Rahat
Humanitäre Nothilfe und Botschaften des Zusammenhalts
Zusammen mit Itach-Maaki hat Have you seen the horizon lately nach dem 7. Oktober ein humanitäres Hilfezentrum in Rahat, Israel, eingerichtet, um Überlebende des Terrors und Gemeinden unter Raketenbeschuss zu unterstützen. Freiwillige packen dort wöchentlich Hilfspakete für jüdische und arabische Familien. Diese Zusammenarbeit ist ein starkes Beispiel für jüdisch-arabische Kooperation und den Zusammenhalt der Bürger:innen Israels in Krisenzeiten.
Die Initiative will einen Beitrag dazu leisten, dass jüdische und arabische Bürger:innen friedlich und gleichberechtigt zusammenleben. Darum hat Have you seen the horizon lately [Italics] eine Reihe von Videos produziert, die jüdisch-arabische Zusammenarbeit thematisieren. Diese Videos in Hebräisch, Arabisch und Englisch wurden millionenfach in sozialen Medien angesehen und bieten eine Gegenerzählung zu extremistischen Narrativen an. Sie handeln bspw. von beduinischen Israelis, die jüdischen Mitbürger:innen am 7. Oktober das Leben retteten, appelieren an Menschlichkeit und Empathie und treten Vorurteilen und Ängsten entgegen.
