A Network that supports the democratic civil society

We are committed to standing with Israel’s civil society and mobilizing support from across Germany. Network Israel connects your support with real impact on the ground – by supporting long-term initiatives led by democratic civil society actors. Our work is rooted in transparency and a deep commitment to democratic values. Discover the projects and find out how you can make a difference.

Since the terrorist attacks by Hamas and other armed groups on October 7, 2023, Israel’s civil society has mobilized with incredible dedication: providing care for survivors and internally displaced people, supporting Holocaust survivors and their families, and working to strengthen peaceful coexistence between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel.
Network Israel is a platform for everyone who wants to stand with the citizens of Israel.
Our goal is to express solidarity with Israel’s democratic civil society and to mobilize concrete support from within Germany. As a unique bridge between the two countries, Network Israel channels this solidarity into meaningful and longterm impact. Our work is built on transparency and a strong commitment to democratic values.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas are polarizing around the world. In this polarized debate, the urgent needs of civilians are often overlooked. Many people in Germany feel a deep connection to Israel and want to help – but are unsure how to provide support. While various initiatives exist, there is no central platform to coordinate and strengthen these efforts. Network Israel fills this gap.

Network Israel fills this gap. It serves as a bridge between different actors who are delivering emergency aid on the ground. By raising funds – and, in the future, sending volunteer, organizing exchanges and encounter programs – the network provides sustainable and meaningful support.
We are sending a strong message to the German public: our solidarity is not merely symbolic, but practical and action-oriented. We ensure that 100% of donations go directly to projects in Israel.
The initiative was launched by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ), which is funding the network during its initial phase. All operational aspects are coordinated by New Israel Fund (NIF) Germany.
The founding partners also include long-standing advocates of German-Israeli relations:
Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste e.V., Alfred Landecker Foundation, AMCHA Germany e.V., and the Foundation for German-Israeli Youth Exchange (Stiftung Deutsch-Israelisches Zukunftsforum).

Amid the polarizing debate surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Network Israel offers a platform that coordinates emergency aid by raising donations and connecting volunteers. We ensure that 100% of all donations go directly to projects in Israel, promoting practical solidarity over symbolic gestures. The network was initiated by the EVZ Foundation and is coordinated operationally by New Israel Fund (NIF) Germany, with the support of other organizations committed to strengthening German-Israeli relations.

We collect donations for immediate support for selected partner organizations.

FAQ

frequently asked questions

Who stands behind the Network?

The Network was founded on the initiative of the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ). The operational implementation is carried out by the New Israel Fund Germany e.V. (NIF). The Network’s supporting organizations also include Action Reconciliation Service for Peace, Alfred Landecker Foundation, AMCHA Germany e.V., and the German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation (DIZF).

The network aims to provide active support for Israeli civil society following the terrorist attacks by Hamas and other armed groups on October 7, 2023. Beyond showing solidarity, its primary focus is on providing practical support. As a platform, the network connects individuals and organizations in Germany willing to help with civil society actors in Israel who need support. This includes financial aid for nonprofit projects, fostering exchanges between activists, and establishing sustainable partnerships. Since no platform in Germany currently coordinates support for Israeli civil society, the network fills this gap. It ensures that donations are directed to trusted organizations and that support reaches those who need it most.

Individuals can support the network by donating to the projects. Additionally, sharing our appeals and content helps to raise awareness and mobilize further support. Those who wish to stay informed about current developments, events, and projects can subscribe to our newsletter.

Organizations, institutions, and businesses can also participate in the network. They can become partner organizations, share our appeals, or take part in joint events and initiatives. If you have an idea for supporting civil society or are already doing that and want to become part of the network, please contact us via our contact form.

The network supports projects led by civil society partner organizations in Israel and fosters exchanges between civil society activists and organizations from Germany and Israel. Since the attacks on October 7, these organizations have been actively involved in assisting survivors, providing aid to displaced people, supporting Shoah survivors and their families, and promoting Jewish-Palestinian cooperation in Israel.

All funds collected through the network go exclusively to projects run by civil society organizations that are registered as nonprofits in Israel, committed to democratic principles, human rights, and international law, and not primarily funded by any government institution.

100% of donations go directly to projects in Israel. Contributions are deposited into a donation account and transferred via the implementing organization, the New Israel Fund, to the projects in Israel.

The network’s supporting organizations have a special connection with Israeli civil society, particularly in light of Germany’s historical responsibility for the crimes against humanity of the Shoah. Given the extraordinary distress following October 7, 2023, and the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, they aim to provide practical support by relying on their established partner organizations in Israel.

If you wish to support humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, or Lebanon, we recommend donating to World Central Kitchen (WCK) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC). These organizations provide food and other essential supplies to those in need. The New Israel Fund (NIF) is currently collecting donations to support these two organizations.

Our partner organization ConAct presents:

WE are connected -
German-israeli youth exchange in support for israel

The German-Israeli youth exchange is one of the strongest pillars of the relationship between the two countries. More then one year after the terrorist attacks by Hamas on Israel – which claimed the lives of more than 1,200 people and saw around 240 hostages taken to Gaza – some 100,000 Israelis remain internally displaced. Their lives are marked by pain, grief, and a deep sense of despair.

In this challenging situation, youth movements in Israel play a crucial role in supporting survivors of the attacks and those who have been displaced. Immediately after the terrorist attacks, they organized emergency shelters, as well as medical and psychological support. One year on, they continue to provide activities for children and teenagers, offering educational support, and giving both logistical and emotional support for people of all ages across more than 100 locations.

The WE ARE CONNECTED initiative was launched in response to the terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023. It invites German partner organizations and young people involved in youth, school, and volunteer exchange programs to stay connected with their Israeli partner organizations and friends. The initiative encourages continued engagement and supporting of projects on the ground.
