Dr. Tamara Or,
Since October 7, Israeli civil society has been doing incredible work to support those directly affected, alleviate collective pain, and strengthen social cohesion. For us at the German-Israeli Future Forum, it is very important to support the democratic civil society in these challenges. That’s why we are grateful to be part of Network Israel.

Dr. Amir Theilhaber,
Israel and its people are close to our hearts. The war following the Hamas massacres of October 7, 2023, has shaken Israel and revealed deep cracks in the country’s social contract. A broad spectrum of civil society actors in Israel are in need of support – also from Germany. The Netzwerk Israel offers a way to contribute. Help us with your donation to support a fair Israel for all its residents, living in peace with its neighbours.

Dr. Juliane Solf
Since October 7, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has once again captured global attention. Yet the consequences of the terror attacks for Israeli civil society are rarely addressed. The psychosocial crisis in Israel is now more severe than it has been in a long time.
I am grateful that, through Network Israel, we can support the work of AMCHA Israel, an organization helping Holocaust survivors cope with both past and present trauma.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Who stands behind the Network Israel initiative?
Netzwerk Israel was founded on the initiative of the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ). The operational implementation is managed by New Israel Fund Deutschland e.V. (NIF). The network’s supporting organizations also include Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste e.V., the Alfred Landecker Foundation, AMCHA Deutschland e.V., and the German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation (DIZF).
What are the goals of the Network?
The network aims to provide active support for Israeli civil society following the terrorist attacks by Hamas and other armed groups on October 7, 2023. Beyond showing solidarity, its primary focus is on providing practical support.
As a platform, the network connects individuals and organizations in Germany willing to help with civil society actors in Israel who need support. This includes financial aid for nonprofit projects, fostering exchanges between activists, and establishing sustainable partnerships.
Since no platform in Germany currently coordinates support for Israeli civil society, the network fills this gap. It ensures that donations are directed to trusted organizations and that support reaches those who need it most.
Through a short-termscholarship program, the network will also promote exchange between civil society actors from Israel and Germany in 2025.
How can I support?
Individuals can support the network by donating to the projects. Additionally, sharing our appeals and content helps to raise awareness and mobilize further support. Those who wish to stay informed about current developments, events, and projects can subscribe to our newsletter.
Organizations, institutions, and businesses can also participate in the network. They can become partner organizations, share our appeals, or take part in joint events and initiatives. If you have an idea for supporting civil society or are already doing that and want to become part of the network, please contact us via our contact form.
Where does the money go?
The network supports projects led by civil society partner organizations in Israel and fosters exchanges between civil society activists and organizations from Germany and Israel. Since the attacks on October 7, these organizations have been actively involved in assisting survivors, providing aid to displaced people, supporting Holocaust survivors and their families, and promoting Jewish-Palestinian cooperation in Israel.
All funds collected through the network go exclusively to projects run by civil society organizations that are registered as nonprofits in Israel, committed to democratic principles, human rights, and international law, and not primarily funded by any government institution.
100% of donations go directly to projects in Israel. Contributions are deposited into a donation account and transferred via the implementing organization, the New Israel Fund, to the projects in Israel.
Why do you only support projects in Israel?
The network’s supporting organizations have a special connection with Israeli civil society, particularly in light of Germany’s historical responsibility for the crimes against humanity of the Shoah. Given the extraordinary distress following October 7, 2023, and the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, they aim to provide practical support by relying on their established partner organizations in Israel.
If you wish to support humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, or Lebanon, we recommend donating to World Central Kitchen (WCK) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC). These organizations provide food and other essential supplies to those in need. The New Israel Fund (NIF) is currently collecting donations to support these two organizations.
