Jutta Weduwen
Managing Director of Action Reconciliation Service for Peace
We stand by our friends and partners in Israel. They are suffering from the consequences of the brutal anti-Semitic attack by Hamas on October 7 and the attacks by Hezbollah. We are part of the Israel Network to support Holocaust survivors, relatives of hostages, internally displaced persons, victims of sexual violence, and Jewish-Arab coexistence projects. We hope for a peaceful and secure future for all people in Israel and the region.

Lena Altman
Co-CEO of the Alfred Landecker Foundation
The Alfred Landecker Foundation is committed to remembering the Holocaust and its victims. As a continuation of this, the foundation feels particularly connected to the country of the survivors and their descendants. Through the Israel Network, urgently needed support to cope with the consequences of the terrorist attack is provided to the Israeli community, especially to Holocaust survivors who were retraumatized by October 7.

Dr. Andrea Despot
Chairwoman of the Board
Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future
The impacts of October 7 are as profound as they are shocking: for Israel’s civil society as well as for Jews throughout the world. The EVZ Foundation stands resolutely by the side of democratic Israeli civil society and continues to support Holocaust survivors and peaceful dialogue between societies. It is encouraging that many other organizations have followed the initiative of NIF and the EVZ Foundation. In the Israel Network, we will jointly mobilize concrete help from German society. Be part of it!

The Israel Network
After October 7, 2023: Support from Germany for civil society initiatives in Israel
Since the terrorist attacks by Hamas and other armed groups on October 7, 2023, civil society in Israel has been doing incredible work to care for terror survivors and internally displaced persons, support Holocaust survivors and their families, and promote peaceful coexistence between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel. Network Israel is a platform for all those who want to support the people in Israel in these efforts.
Our goal is to set an example in supporting Israeli civil society and mobilize concrete help from German society. Our work is based on transparency and the promotion of democratic principles.
To this end, we established and built up the network in 2024 and conducted two fundraising campaigns to support civil society projects in Israel.
100% of the donations collected by the network are forwarded to the supported projects, thus directly and fully benefiting the people in Israel.
In 2025, we are offering short-term scholarships for exchanges between German and Israeli civil society organizations for the first time.
Our network creates a clear connection between German supporters and Israeli projects, promotes Israeli civil society, and ensures that every aid arrives directly through 100% direct forwarding of donations.

Short-term scholarships for civil society exchange
As part of the short-term scholarships of the project ‘Network Israel – Solidarity with Democratic Civil Society in Israel’, Israeli civil society actors are given the opportunity to visit and work with a German civil society organization for a limited time. The aim is to share knowledge, develop joint projects, and deepen existing collaborations.
As a network, we want to provide a platform for the results of the collaboration and thus strengthen German-Israeli relations at a critical time. We look forward to your applications!

About us
The most important answers about Network Israel and how you can support. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us through the contact form.
Who is behind the Network?
The Network was founded on the initiative of the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ). The operational implementation is carried out by the New Israel Fund Germany e.V. (NIF). The Network’s supporting organizations also include Action Reconciliation Service for Peace, Alfred Landecker Foundation, AMCHA Germany e.V., and the German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation (DIZF).
What are the goals of the Network?
The Network supports projects of civil society partner organizations in Israel as well as the exchange of committed civil society activists and organizations from Germany and Israel. Since the terrorist attack on October 7, the civil society partner organizations have been contributing to providing for terror survivors and internally displaced persons, supporting Holocaust survivors and their families, and promoting Jewish-Palestinian cooperation in Israel.
The funds collected within the framework of the Network benefit projects in Israel that carry out trustworthy and effective work. The funds flow exclusively to projects of civil society organizations that are registered as non-profit in Israel, are committed to democratic principles and the respect for human rights and international law, and are not predominantly financed by a government institution.
100% of the donations go to the projects in Israel. For this purpose, they are paid into a specially set up donation account and transferred to the projects in Israel via the implementing organization, the New Israel Fund.
How can I support?
Individuals can support the Network by donating to the funded projects. It also helps to spread our calls and content to raise awareness and mobilize additional support. Those who want to stay regularly informed about current developments, events, and projects can sign up for our newsletter.
Associations, institutions, or companies also have the opportunity to actively participate in the Network. They can become partner organizations, share our calls, or participate in joint events and initiatives. Do you have an idea for supporting civil society or are you already active in this area and want to become part of the Network? Please feel free to contact us via our contact form.
Where does the money go?
The Network supports projects of civil society partner organizations in Israel that have been contributing to providing for terror survivors and internally displaced persons, supporting Holocaust survivors and their families, and promoting Jewish-Arab cooperation in Israel since the terrorist attacks of October 7.

The funds flow exclusively to projects of civil society organizations that are registered as non-profit in Israel, are committed to democratic principles and the respect for human rights and international law, and are not predominantly financed by a government institution. According to these criteria, the consortium of Network supporting organizations decides on the selection of projects in line with the Mission Statement.

Why do you only support projects in Israel?
The Network supporters are organizations that have a special connection to Israeli civil society, not least against the background of German responsibility for the crimes against humanity of the Holocaust. In the extraordinary emergency situation after October 7, 2023, and in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, they want to provide practical support, for which they can rely on partner organizations in Israel.
If you want to support projects for humanitarian aid to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, or Lebanon, we recommend donations to World Central Kitchen (WCK) and International Rescue Committee (IRC). These organizations provide people on the ground with food and other essential goods. The New Israel Fund (NIF) is currently collecting donations for these two organizations.

Since October 7, Israeli civil society has been doing incredible work to support those directly affected, alleviate collective pain, and strengthen social cohesion. For us at the German-Israeli Future Forum, it is very important to support the democratic civil society in these challenges. That’s why we are grateful to be part of Network Israel.

Dr. Felix Klein
Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Antisemitism
Since the Hamas terror attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, support for the Israeli population and their resilience has faded into the background. The people in Israel, the only Jewish and democratic state worldwide, need and deserve our support. In this current, perhaps most severe crisis since the country’s founding, it is only logical that Network Israel, an initiative of German organizations, directly supports Holocaust survivors, internally displaced persons, and others directly affected by the terror.

Israel and its people are close to our hearts. The war since the Hamas massacres on October 7, 2023, has shaken Israel and highlighted the cracks and flaws in the Israeli social contract. A wide spectrum of civil society actors in Israel needs support – including from Germany. Network Israel makes it possible to contribute to this. Help with your donation for a just Israel for all its inhabitants, at peace with its neighbors.

Dr. Juliane Solf
Managing Director of AMCHA Germany e.V.
At least since October 7, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has once again come to the attention of the world public. Little is said about the consequences of the terror for the Israeli civilian population. Yet the psychosocial emergency in Israel has since become greater than ever before. I am pleased that with Network Israel we can contribute to the work of AMCHA Israel, which supports Holocaust survivors in coping with old and new traumas.
